After seeing his team
squander several chances in a one-nil defeat against Canada in their Gold Cup
opener on Friday, Jamaica's head coach Theodore Whitmore is backing his troops
to come through in Tuesday's must win game against Costa Rica.Jamaica could be without midfielder's Rudulph Austin and Jason Morrison who suffered injuries in the lost against Canada. But Coach Whitmore says there are suitable replacements and that the Reggae Boyz are aware that another defeat could end Jamaica's campaign. Costa Rica were also surprise losers in their opening game against El Salvdor and Coach Whitmore knows that their campaign also hinging on three points, Jamaica's task will be even more difficult. Canada and El Salvador will contest Tuesday's second game knowing that victory will clinch a place in the quarter finals. In Wednesday's Group B games, Haiti and Grenada will first meet before United States oppose Honduras in the top of the table clash. |
