FLOW granted injunction against Allied Directors PDF Print

Image  Cable operator FLOW was on Monday granted an injunction against the directors of Allied Cablevision Limited, one of the local cable companies which it recently acquired.   FLOW requested the injunction following two incidents which occurred between Friday and Sunday which left Allied customers without service.

It is reported that on Friday, some of the directors of Allied went to the company's Washington Boulevard offices and dismantled cable distribution equipment.

This resulted in the immediate loss of service to several thousand customers in the Corporate Area.

FLOW personnel had to get assistance from the police to restore service.

It is also alleged that on Sunday, the directors returned and barricaded themselves inside the building.

On Monday, FLOW went to the courts and got an injunction ordering the directors to vacate Allied's offices.

FLOW's Director of Marketing Jean McPherson said Allied's directors have not complied with the injunction.

"The injunction has not been complied with, which does not give us the opportunity to fully restore service to our customers," she said.

The dispute reportedly developed over the agreement for the sale of Allied's operations to FLOW.

Broadcasting Commission investigates

The issue has caught the attention of the Broadcasting Commission.

The Commission said it was made aware of an interruption in subscriber television service since last Friday in zones formerly operated by Allied.

It said it was investigating the circumstances, with a view to the earliest restoration of service to affected subscribers.

Some service will b restored

FLOW said it is putting alternative measures in place to restore service to Allied customers.

"We have managed to reroute the service which allows them to receive some 60 and 70 channels. Service hasn't been fully restored but once we're able to get in the building our first priority will be to restore service at least within a few hours after getting access to the distribution plant," said Ms. McPherson.
