The Parliamentary Opposition will on Tuesday outline an
alternative plan to dealing with Jamaica's crime problem. This will be done when Opposition Spokesman on National Security Dr. Peter Phillips makes his contribution to the Sectoral Debate in Parliament. Dr. Phillips told RJR News that his presentation will, among other things, focus on crime and ways the situation can be brought under control. The former National Security Minister recently chided the administration for doing a poor job in assuring the country that it has strategies in place to stem the worsening crime problem. His presentation will precede Wednesday's bi-partisan talks between the government and the opposition dubbed the Vale Royal Summit. The bi-partisan talks which will involve Prime Minister Bruce Golding and Opposition Leader Portia Simpson-Miller will centre on the issue of crime. |
