After having to settle
for fifth place in the men's 400 meter hurdles final Tuesday, Jamaica's Danny McFarlane is
contemplating his next move which includes retirement. The 2004 Olympic silver medalist, McFarlane who posted 48.59 seconds for fifth place behind American winner Kerron Clement's world leading time of 47.61 seconds is now without an agent but remains hopeful that he will be able to complete the season. 35-year-old McFarlane remains bitter about the treatment he's receiving nationally. "I think I deserve more than this for representing my country. I have been representing my country since 1993 and I have Olympic and World Championship medals and I have nothing to show what the federation or someone has given to me. Private people might help me to do a business or something like that but nothing from government, or anybody," said McFarlane. |
