Energy Minister Clive Mullings is expected to
receive a preliminary report on the outcome of the forensic audit at the state-owned
Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (PCJ) on Friday.
A Canadian forensic auditor who arrived last weekend was
scheduled to spend this week going through the Corporation's books as part of
the investigation into the Cuban Light Bulb Project."It is something that will be painstakingly thorough and we have allowed him the time to acquaint himself with the subsidiaries and with the PCJ as the parent company and to give us an idea as what is obtaining in those entities," said Mr. Mullings. The PCJ was given the task of executing aspects of the Cuban Light Bulb Programme which involved the distribution of energy saving bulbs across the island. In a March interview, Mr. Mullings said the audit would assist the authorities to determine whether there was any financial impropriety in the implementation of the project. |
