An interim Chairman has been appointed to head the Rural
Agricultural Development Authority (RADA). He is banana farmer Roger Turner. Mr. Turner who is an agriculturalist by profession is the manager of Tulloch Estate. Mr. Turner who was appointed to RADA's Board last December took over as Chairman on Tuesday. He replaced Dr. Omer Thomas who suddenly resigned on Friday in the wake of questions surrounding his academic qualifications. Mr. Turner told RJR News that his first task as RADA Chairman will be to implement initiatives which have been on the drawing board. "Well we will be implementing all the Minister's initiatives and in June we'll have a retreat with him and the PS (Permanent Secretary) and we'll knock out the details of how exactly we are going to implement theses initiatives," said Mr. Turner. |
