| Jobs to come from upgrade work on the Trident Hotel |

The Government
has announced that more than 200 jobs will be created when work begins on the
Portland-based Trident Hotel which has been acquired by the Michael Lee
Chin-led AIC Group.Minister of State in the Office of Prime Minister, Daryl Vaz said 150 persons will be given full time jobs when the hotel is upgraded. "This will be upgraded to a luxury Caribbean resort with 42 rooms in phase one to come on stream fully in 2009/2010, at a value of US$15 million." He said phase two will see the expansion of the Trident Hotel to include short stay hotel suits and villas as well as high end residential homes. Mr. Vaz said this phase will also come on stream in 2009/2010 to a value of US$25 million. |
