Suriname
says it is seeking the assistance of the International Criminal Police Organisation,
INTERPOL, regarding the seizure of several fake Surinamese passports in Thailand
last weekend. The authorities also announced stiffer penalties for persons found guilty of using stolen Surinamese travel documents or in possession of fake local passports. The Head of the Judicial Department of the Suriname Police said the government would seek support for implementing the stiffer penalties. |
