The West Indies (WI) cricketers
began a five day camp in Antigua on Monday without
Jamaican batsman Marlon Samuels. The absence of the 27-year old from the camp would bring confirmation to the breaking news carried by RJR Sports on Saturday that he was found guilty of one of the two charges laid against him in the bribery case. Samuels could now face at least a two year ban from international cricket. The training camp comes ahead of the 3 test series and 5 one day internationals against world champions Australia. The WI squad arrived in Antigua on Sunday. Skipper Chris Gayle is hoping to recover from a groin injury in time for the first test at Sabina Park in Kingston starting May 22. |
