Gunmen struck in Olympic Gardens Sunday night leaving two
men dead.It is reported that shortly after 11pm residents in Olympic Gardens heard explosions and called the police who later found the bullet-riddled bodies of two men along Olympic Way. Up to late Sunday night the police were searching for clues in the case. Over the past month, the St. Andrew South Police have been grappling with a flare-up of gang violence in several communities in the division. On the weekend, three persons including an elderly woman and a 16-year-old youth were gunned down on Penwood Avenue. Other residents fled their homes in fear. More than 500 persons have been murdered across the island since January. |
