Members of the Major Investigation Task Force (MIT) are
continuing their probe into the murder of a policewoman on the weekend. The body of Special Corporal Cynthia Patterson, 41, was found with gunshot wounds on North Parade in Downtown, Kingston shortly after 5am Saturday. Investigators are probing allegations that the murder of the policewoman may have stemmed from a domestic dispute. A man close to the Special Corporal was questioned on the weekend and released. His licensed firearm was also seized for testing. Head of the MIT Assistant Commissioner Les Green told RJR News that the police have taken an open approach to the investigation. "The officers are working very closely with the local division officer and we have had a lot of assistance from the public and serving officers which will help us to garner the last movements of the officer and to confirm her movements." ACP Les Green said the MIT is looking at several potential lines of investigation and is appealing to anyone with information to come forward and assist. |
