A man who is suspected of conning several persons in St
Elizabeth is now behind bars.The man, who allegedly got money from victims under pretense of securing jobs, was held by the Balaclava police on Friday. Leroy Bennett, 26, a businessman of Oxford, is believed to have fleeced several persons of thousands of dollars. Mr. Bennett was arrested by the Balaclava Police and has been charged with three counts of obtaining money by false pretence after victims in the area reported that they paid him large sums of money to secure jobs but no jobs were forthcoming. The police report that they are also investigating several other cases. They believe that Mr. Bennett who only moved into the area five-months ago had been operating his scheme in other areas of St. Elizabeth before moving into the Balaclava area. |
