With the Beijing
Olympics only three months away, Chinese athletes dominated the Osaka 2008 Grand
Prix which ended Saturday. Despite their dominance, three Jamaicans walked away with medals. Maurice Wignall finished third in 13.84 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles behind China's world record holder Liu Xiang in 13.19 seconds. Sanjay Ayre clocked 45.91 seconds in the men's 400 meters but was beaten on the line by another Chinese, Liu Xiaosheng in 45.90 seconds. In the men 400 meter hurdles, Dean Griffiths clocked 50.32 seconds to take second place with Ian Weakley finishing seventh in 51.46 seconds. Kenji Narisako of Japan was first in 49.00 seconds. |
