giant Life of Jamaica (LoJ) is to change its name.LoJ which is 76% controlled by the Barbados-based Sagicor Group will soon be known as Sagicor Life Jamaica. LoJ shareholders will vote on the name change at the company's annual general meeting at 3pm Thursday. Executives will then outline the details of the re-branding at a press conference scheduled for Friday morning. Life of Jamaica which was formed in 1970 became a subsidiary of Sagicor in May 2001 under a sale agreement with the Financial Sector Adjustment Company, FINSAC. The impending name change will not affect Pan Caribbean Financial Services Limited of which LoJ owns 51%. |
