 An international
survey has ranked local real estate prices as being the lowest in the region.In its latest survey of Caribbean properties, Global Property Guide said the cheapest properties can be found in Jamaica followed by Aruba and the Dominican Republic. It said prices range from US$1,300 to US$1,500 per square metre for beach front properties. Bermuda, the Bahamas and Barbados were listed as having the highest prices in the region. Property prices in those countries exceed US$7,000 per square metre. According to the report, the depreciation of the US dollar against major currencies such as the British Pound has made Caribbean properties more attractive to American investors. In addition, it said Caribbean properties are considered cheaper than coastal properties in Mediterranean Europe. |
