Top Jamaican lawyers - K.
Churchill Neita and Delano Harris - who are both Queen's Council, will
represent Jamaican and West Indies Cricketer Marlon Samuels at this weekends hearing
into bribery allegations.The hearing will be held in St. Lucia and will be conducted by the Disciplinary Committee of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB). The WICB had found sufficient evidence to charge Samuels who is alleged to have provided team information to Indian bookie Mukesh Kochar on the eve of the first one-day international between the West Indies and India in Nagpur on January 21, 2007, The 27-year-old batsman will now defend himself in front of the WICB's Code of Ethics and Disciplinary Committee chaired by Justice Adrian Saunders. The Committee includes Professor Aubrey Bishop, Dr. Lloyd Barnett and player-representatives - Richie Richardson and Courtney Walsh. |
