Defeated candidate for West Portland Abe Dabdoub said the
People's National Party is backing his plan to mount a legal challenge to the
dual citizenship case now before the Court of Appeal. He has dismissed claims of behind the scene attempts by some party officials to discourage him from pursuing the case. Speaking on Beyond the Headlines on Radio 94fm on Thursday, Mr. Dabdoub said at a recent meeting of the PNP's Executive a pledge was given to provide him with full support. Speaking at a Rotary Club meeting Thursday Mr. Dabdoub vowed to continue at all costs his fight to remove Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) MP Daryl Vaz from the West Portland seat. In the meantime, the JLP said it is not surprised by Mr. Dabdoub's stubbornness. General Secretary Karl Samuda spoke with RJR News on Thursday night. Prime Minister Bruce Golding has warned that he will call a General Election if Mr. Dabdoub tries to get the West Portland seat through the courts. |
