After what has been described as lengthy delays, the
United Union of Jamaica (UUJ) and the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (PETCOM)
have finally arrived at a Collective Labour Agreement. The new agreement for wages and other allowances was tied down Wednesday at a meeting between the Union and the Company. PETCOM and the UUJ had a dispute over the union's claim for increased wages and improved working conditions. The matter was referred to the Industrial Disputes Tribunal for a ruling. The settlement includes a 5.67% increase in wages for clerical staff and a 15% increase in wages for Service Station Employees, over a two year period. |
