Traffic changes for the State Opening of Parliament PDF Print

Several traffic changes will be instituted on Thursday to facilitate the State Opening of Parliament.

The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic from 8 o'clock until conclusion of the ceremony: Duke Street between East Queen Street and South Heroes Circle; Charles Street, between East Street and Church Street and Sutton Street between East and Sutton Streets.

Some streets will accommodate one-way traffic only.

These include Beeston Street; East to West between East Street and Mark Lane; West to East from Church Street to Mark Lane, as well as Mark Lane from South to North between Beeston Street and Charles Street.

There will be no parking allowed on sections of South Heroes Circle, Duke Street, Beeston Street, Mark Lane, Charles, East, and East Queen Streets as well as Georges Lane.

Only Jamaica Defense Force vehicles will be allowed to park on Johns Lane.

JUTC buses which normally travel along Duke Street from East Queen Street to Heroes Circle will be diverted.
