The British media are reporting that cocaine with a
street value of 100,000 pounds has been seized after smugglers tried to ship it
through the East Midlands Airport
in packets of dried mince. The one kilogram of illegal drugs was found in a freight consignment of dried foodstuffs sent from Jamaica. It is thought the class A drug was stuffed into wraps inside packets of what was described as veggie-meat mince. Customs officers said it was one of the more inventive methods used by criminals to sneak drugs through East Midlands Airport in recent times. Details have only just been released because of police investigations which followed the discovery, on January 11. The drugs were destined for an address in Wolverhampton. West Midlands Police have arrested a 46-year-old woman in Wolverhampton on suspicion of importing controlled drugs. |
