Less than a month after he took up office, new Police Commissioner
Hardley Lewin is receiving the endorsement of at least one civic action group. Executive Director of Jamaicans for Justice (JFJ), Dr. Carolyn Gomes, says the group is upbeat following recent discussions with Police Commissioner Hardley Lewin. Dr. Gomes said Commissioner Lewin gave a commitment to deal with several vexed issues, chief among them the abuse of citizen's rights by some Force members. The JFJ Executive Director says Commissioner Lewin highlighted some of the weaknesses regarding Force policy. Dr. Gomes said the police chief vowed to improve the service delivery of the organization and bring about meaningful reform. |
