The IAAF's North American,
Central American and Caribbean region head office will be opened in Kingston by the end of January.Speaking with RJR Sports, NACAC President and IAAF area representative, Neville 'Teddy' McCook explained that items from the former headquarters in Puerto Rico were arriving in the island while work was being carried out on the Kingston office. Mccook succeeded Puerto Rican Amadeo Francis late last year as NACAC president and gave an insight into what his first order of business will be when the new office is opened. "One of the things that we've put in place is that we are going to have a strategic planning meeting where I have invited all presidents from the region to participate in a three day seminar in Jamaica at around the time of the Gibson Relays," said Mr. McCook. "I have always been one to emphasise not only to the IAAF but also to the Olympic committee that I think it is more meaningful to have seminars when there is an event so the participants can get themselves immersed to see exactly how a top event takes place," he continued. The Gibson Relays will be held at the national stadium on March 23. |
