44 of jamaica's 45 athletes for this month's World Athletics Championships have arrived in Japan for a nine-day pre- championship camp in Tottori ending on August 20.

Among those arriving Tuesday were world record holder, Asafa Powell and his MVP Club mates Nesta Carter, Markino Buckley, Shericka Williams and Melaine Walker.

Olympic champion, Veronica Campbell also touched down in Japan ahead of the August 25 start of the championships.

Quartermiler Michael Blackwood is the only athlete yet to arrive in the Asian country and he is expected to arrive in Japan Wednesday.
