An audit of the Police
Armoury and Stores at Elletson
Road in Kingston
has started. A team comprising members from the Inspectorate of the Constabulary and auditors from the Ministry of National Security began to audit the Police Armoury and Stores on Monday as per the directive of the Acting Commissioner of Police, Owen Ellington. The Acting Commissioner gave the directive immediately after the seizure last week of 19 firearms and over 10, 000 rounds of assorted ammunition on Munster Road in the Kingston Eastern Police Division. The start of the audit follows the completion of the poly-graphing of staff members, both police and civilian, attached to the Armoury and Stores after the seizure on Munster Road. The Police Armoury and Stores were also closed immediately on the orders of the Acting Commissioner and are now being treated as crime scenes. |
