Jamaica's 18 man Reggae Boyz squad including schoolboy midfielder Jason Johnson staged a light training session of about 45 minutes on Sunday in Mar del Plata ahead of their historic clash against two time world cup champions Argentina.

The Jamaicans arrived in Mar del Plata after a five hour drive from Buenos Aires after an eight hour flight from Miami.

When Jamaica made their debut at the 1998 world cup in France, they were beaten 5-0 by Argentina.

For Coach Theodore Whitmore, who was a member of the then Reggae Boyz team, this is a new ball game after 12 years.

"We're going there to perform ... it's a big game but I'm optimistic that our team will do us proud. We're going there for a good performance, I don't guarantee any results, but the guys are ready.

"I know the national team always play well against big teams and this is just one of the games," Whitmore said.
