Cabinet has appointed a Committee to review the system of
national honours and awards. The committee will be headed by Vice Chancellor Emeritus of the University of the West Indies, Professor Rex Nettleford. This committee will review the present system of National Awards and make recommendations in the selection process. Information Minister, Olivia "Babsy" Grange says the committee will be mandated to make submissions to Cabinet within a three month period. She says this is to ensure that the appropriate changes can be made for the selection of awardees in time for independence 2008. |
