Jamaica's world champions Shelly Ann Fraser, Melaine Walker and Brigitte Foster-Hylton have all missed out on the final list of athletes short-listed for the IAAF Female Athlete of the Year Award.

2008 winner Russia's Yelena Isinbeyeva once again lead the nominees of five short-listed athletes.

American quarter-miler Sanya Richards, New Zealand shott putter Valrie Villi, Croatian high jumper Blanka Vlasic and Poland javelin thrower Anita Wlodarczyk complete the list.

Jamaica's Fraser and Walker won the women's 100 and 400 metre hurdles respectively in Berlin to add to their Olympic titles.

Foster-Hylton won the women's 100 metre hurdles and was unbeaten in her seven races after Berlin.

Unsurprisingly triple world and Olympic sprint champion Usain Bolt heads the five nominees short-listed for Male Athlete of the Year Award.

Bolt won the men's 100 and 200 metre in world record times of 9.58 seconds and 19.19 at the World Championships.

The winners will be announced during the IAAF's World Athletics Gala which will take place on November 22.
