Farmer killed in drive by shooting PDF Print

ImageThe murder toll continues to rise as a 60-year old farmer of Bambury in St. Catherine was shot dead Saturday afternoon during a drive-by shooting on the outskirts of Linstead.

Dunkley Duncan from Bambury was riding a bicycle along the road about 12.30pm when a car drove up along side him.

The occupants of the car opened fire on the farmer before speeding off.

Mr. Duncan was shot several times and died on the spot.

Gunman kill two men, injured two others

Four men were shot, two fatally, by a gunman in the Pear Tree community of St. Andrew Friday night. 

The police report that about 10:45pm, Narado Hinds, 28, and Terrence Gordon, 30 both of the Pear Tree area were standing along the road in community when a man approached them, pulled a gun and open fire.

Mr. Gordon died on the spot.

The gunman then went further into the community where he shot an injured a 24 year-old man also from the Pear Tree community and the 48-year old taxi operator of Glengoffe in St. Catherine who were also standing along the road.

The injured men were taken to hospital where Mr. Hinds was pronounced dead and the others admitted.

Man killed as police woman is robbed of her gun

Another victim of the crime wave moving across the country was Andrew Nelson, 43, of Mount Pellier in Yallahs, St. Thoma.

He was shot dead by gunmen on the Kingston leg of the Portmore Toll Road last night while a police woman who was with him was robbed of her handbag which contained her service firearm.

The Constabulary Communication Network reports that about 8:20 p.m., Mr. Nelson was driving his Dodge Ram motor truck, with the police woman aboard, when he stopped along the toll road and exited the vehicle near the wharf.

While standing outside the truck, four men Mr. Thomas and shot him.

The gunmen then robbed the police woman of her handbag which contained personal items along with her service pistol which had 26 rounds of ammunition.

The police woman escaped while the attackers were forcing the injured man back into the vehicle.

Mr. Nelson's body was found slumped over in the front seat of the abandoned vehicle at Twickenham Close Saturday afternoon.

Senior citizen found dead

And Rennick Burrell, 80, was found murdered at his home on Duke Street in downtown, Kingston on Friday.

A friend who went to visit Mr. Burrell about 4p.m. called the police after he found the senior citizen's body wrapped in a sheet on his bed.

According to the police, Mr. Burrell had chop wounds to his head and his hands were bound.

A blood stained sword suspected to be the murder weapon was found on the floor of the room.
