The executive of the
Jamaica Amateur Athletics Association (JAAA) is now in possession of the
manager's report on Jamaica's
overall performance at the recent World Athletics Championships, in Berlin Germany.
Howard Aris, JAAA President was informed on September 4 that the executive had yet to receive the team manager's report from Berlin. However, Trevor 'TC' Campbell, team leader to the World Championships, has informed RJR Sports that the report has been submitted. Among the items the executive will be reviewing in the report is the controversy surrounding the six MVP Track Club athletes who missed the team's mandatory training camp in Nuremberg, Germany ahead of the start of the championships in Berlin. The JAAA executive will decide if the athletes should face the its disciplinary panel. Asafa Powell, former world record holder and one of the six athletes who missed the training camp says he is not in the least worried about what action could be taken against them. Brigitte Foster-Hylton, world 100 metres hurdles champions, Shelly Ann Fraser, Melaine Walker as well as Shericka Williams and Kaliese Spencer are the other athletes who missed the camp. |
