One of
the main suspects wanted for last December's flare up of violence in Tredegar Park
and Gravel Heights in St. Catherine is among a
group of persons on the police's most wanted list in the parish. Deputy Superintendent Derrick Champagnie who heads the St. Catherine police says top of that is Donald Brown who is also known as Negus and Handsome. "Also wanted are Andre Bryan who is wanted for the murder of Doglas Chambers, late Chairman of the Jamaica Urban Transit Company, who was murdered last year at the JTUC bus depot in Spanish Town, a man known only as "Da-Da" of Homestead, (St. Catherine) who is wanted for murder and shooting and Rolando Hall and Gladston Robinson who are wanted for crime committed in the northern section of the parish," said SDSP Champagnie. He was addressing the annual St. Catherine North police Divisional Conference at the Police Academy in Twickenham Park Saturday afternoon. DSP Champagnie revealed that with the death of James Hinds who was the main architect in the upsurge of crime in Tredegar Park and Gravel Heights, several of his cronies are now in custody. "One of our main challenges was James Hinds and his cronies. Unfortunately James Hinds met his death before we could take him before the courts to answer for the numerous homicides, shootings, robberies and extortions that he had committed. I'm pleased to report that about seven of his top lieutenants are presently in custody before the courts," he said. |
