Sprinters Asafa Powell
and Kerron Stewart were the Jamaican winners at the Oslo Golden League meet in Norway
on Friday.In another encouraging display, Powell, who was last from the blocks, came from behind to post victory in the men's 100 metres clocking 10.07 seconds, the same time as Daniel Bailey of Antigua. Compatriot Michael Frater was third in 10.08 seconds. Stewart put on another commanding display to win the women's 100 metres in 10.99 seconds. Compatriot Sherri Ann Brooks finished fourth in 11.27. Shericka Williams posted a season's best 49.98 seconds to finish second in the women's 400 metres behind American winner Sanya Richards who posted a world leading and meet record of 49.23. Brigitte Foster-Hylton also produced a season's best 12.75 for second in the women's 100 metre hurdles behind American Damu Cherry who clocked 12.68. Dellorren Ennis London finished fourth in 12.84. |
