New York-based
investment firm Conduit Capital Partners has unveiled plans for a major
expansion of the generating capacity at Jamaica Energy Partners. Conduit recently reacquired Jamaica Energy Partners from Basic Energy which bought the company for US$92.5 million in 2007. Conduit is to finance a 60 megawatt diesel-fired expansion of its 125 megawatt barge-mounted Old Harbour Bay St. Catherine plant with a combination of debt and equity. The private equity firm is reportedly talking to First Caribbean Bank and the International Finance Corporation ahead of finalising a financing plan later this year. |
