The Hayes Primary and Junior High School in Clarendon
which started the school year with a shortage of space, is facing more problems
as a result of the continuous heavy rains. The school started the academic year without Grade 10 students as there was no place to house them. A week later several tents provided by the Ministry of Education were erected at the school to accommodate grade 10. But Principal Mark Nicely told RJR News Tuesday morning the area where the tents were erected has been flooded. He said he is only able to accommodate the students because so many have been kept at home because of the rain. He said the problem is further compounded as work on the classroom block has been stalled due to the rains. |
