A court in the United Kingdom
on Thursday fined Jamaica's
Ricardo Fuller of English Premier League club Stokes City,
£115.Fuller, who has been living in the UK for almost a decade, was fined becaue he thought he could drive in Britain using a Jamaican licence. He was also ordered to pay £60 in costs and a £15 victim surcharge after pleading guilty to driving other than in accordance with a licence. The 29-year-old was not in court to hear that three other motoring-related charges against him had been dropped. Fuller, was arrested after driving into Stoke's training ground on february 25 in his BMW 650i. His lawyer entered a guilty plea on his behalf and told the court that Fuller had failed to realise he could only use a Jamaican licence during his first 12 months in the country. The former Preston and Portsmouth forward is now driving legally using learner plates while in the company of a licenced driver. He passed his theory test and is due to take the practical test at the end of the month. Fuller's provisional licence is endorsed with three penalty points. |
