The Canadian High Commission has announced that it will
cease accepting payments for visa fees in Jamaican dollars. In a release, the High Commission said effective October One, visa fees must be paid in Canadian dollars only. In addition, the commission says fees for Temporary Resident or Visitor visa applications must be paid at Scotia Bank branches. Applicants must submit both copies of the fee receipt to the Immigration section of the High Commission. All other processing fees, including those for offshore visitor, permanent resident visas as well as study and work permits, must be paid with a manager's cheque or bank draft in Canadian dollars. The fees are non-refundable. |
