Three constables attached to the St. Catherine North
Division are to appear in court Friday morning on murder charges. The charges stem from a shooting in April last year in which two of four men were shot and killed in Riversdale, St. Catherine. Director of Public Prosecution, Paula Llewellyn, last week ruled that the cops be charged. They are Constables Rosalee Thompson and Kevin Harris along with District Constable Dwayne Harrison. It was reported that the police were carrying out an operation in the community of Crawl in Riversdale, when they spotted four men with guns who opened fire. The police say a shoot out ensued and two of the four men who allegedly engaged them were shot and killed and a firearm seized. The incident sparked a massive demonstration in the community. The residents challenged the police's version on the killings. |
