| Woman accused of boy’s murder to appear in court |

Angella Reid, 34, of Ginger Hill in St. Elizabeth, who is
charged with the murder of 11-year-old Ryan Arnold, is to return to the Black
River Resident Magistrate's Court Friday. Miss Reid was charged for the 2007 murder of the boy after she called the Nain Police to report that she had killed him. Ryan was killed while running errands for his parents. The police report that Miss Reid lured the youngster into bushes on the evening of December 23, where she first strangled him then used a piece of stick to bash in his head. She later called the police to say that she had just killed someone. The killing of the 11 year old angered the community and residents set Miss Reid's house on fire after she was arrested. On her last appearance in court, Miss Reid was referred for psychiatric assessment to determine her ability to plea. She is represented by legal aide assigned attorney-at-law Tamara Green. |
