The island's fire fighters are reportedly restive. They are said to be upset about the Jamaica Fire Brigade's response to their claim for improved fringe benefits for the 2008 to 2010 contract period. During a meeting on Wednesday the Brigade placed an offer on the table however it was rejected. The Jamaica Association of Local Government Officers (JALGO), which represents more than one thousand fire fighters has served a seven day ultimatum on the Brigade to improve its offer. The claim for improved fringe benefits was submitted to the Brigade in April last year. |
