Current Chairman of CARICOM, the prime Minister of Belize, Dean Barrow says he is looking forward
to Trinidad and Tobago's
hosting of two major international meetings later this year. Port of Spain will host the Fifth Summit of the Americas from April 17-19 followed by the Commonwealth Heads Summit in November. Mr. Barrow, who took over chairmanship of the 15-member regional grouping at the start of the year, has also paid tribute to his predecessor, Prime Minister Baldwin Spencer of Antigua and Barbuda. The Belizean leader is also confident that the region will weather the effects of a global economic storm in the months ahead. |
