A computer glitch has
affected the National Housing Trust's (NHT) new on-line system for contribution
refunds. The entity is now trying to correct the problem. It is reported that the glitch, which surfaced late last week, resulted in persons who applied for their 2001 contribution refunds receiving incorrect e-mails advising them that the applications had been rejected. In other instances inaccurate information was sent out to contributors. Chairman of the NHT, Howard Mitchell, on Tuesday night confirmed there was a glitch in the online system. He was unable to say how many contributors were affected. Mr. Mitchell said a special team had been assembled to correct the problem. Effective January 1, the Housing Trust started accepting all applications for contribution refunds online. The entity has been swamped with applications for refunds with more than 3,000 requests received on Friday which was the first working day of 2009. |
