Five Jamaican albums are included on the list of nominees
in the best reggae album category for the 2009 Grammy Awards. The nominations for the 51st annual Grammy Awards were announced Wednesday in Los Angeles. Burning Spears' "Jah Is Real" will face off against Elephant Man's "Let's Get Physical" as well as Shaggy's "Intoxication," "Amazing" by Sly and Robbie as well as Lee Scratch Perry's "Repentance". The sixth nominee is "Vibes" by Jamaican-born rapper Heavy D, who is based in the US. The Grammy Awards ceremony will take place at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles on February 8. |
