is the new hearing date for the Court of Arbitration for Sport to decide who
gets the 200 metres silver and bronze medals from the Beijing Olympic Games. The Netherlands Antilles Olympic Committee says their athlete, Churandy Martina, who finished behind Jamaica's Usain Bolt should be re-instated as the silver medal winner. Martina was disqualified after the United States (US) team protested that he ran out of his lane, after their athlete Wallace Spearmon who finished third was disqualified for the same offence. The Netherlands authorities contend that the complaint exceeded the 30-minute post race limit. The silver and bronze medals were awarded to the Shawn Crawford and Walter Dix of the US. |
