CARICOM leaders are set to meet in Antigua
on Saturday to discuss the global economic meltdown.A release from the CARICOM Secretariat said the CARICOM Bureau said the meeting would focus on tourism, the price of oil, remittances, and foreign direct investment, among other things. The Bureau consists of incoming and immediate past CARICOM Chairmen who oversee the running of the Community in between full summits. Other hot topics include American-Caribbean relations following the recent election of Barack Obama as the next president of the United States and the implementation of the Economic Partnership Agreement with Europe and natural disasters. |
