Service Company customers stormed the Portmore Branch Monday morning.The residents were upset because they were not able to enter the office because staff said it was flooded. One of the residents told RJR News she was concerned that her electricity would be disconnected. "We come here and see a line and join it, little after I see a lady come out and sey water inside there and dem cant open and don't know when they will open. We asked her if they would cut off our lights because some of us bills overdue because dem a charge wi suh much ... we even offer fi clean up di water ...," said one protestor. A JPS employee who sought to explain the opening delay was also greeted with anger. "The problem is the office is flooded and we cannot allow anybody to go inside ... there are persons coming clean it up," she said. |
