Image  A 47-year old Jamaican man is to spend two years in a United States prison after pleading guilty to mortgage fraud.

Delroy Patterson formerly of Lauderhill in Florida on Monday pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one count of aggravated identity theft.

He was extradited from Jamaica last month to face federal charges in Florida.

Patterson and nine others were indicted on November 7, 2006 for their role in Operation Whose House, a large scale mortgage fraud scheme.

Nine of the accused have been convicted by guilty pleas and sentenced.

The remaining defendant, Yvette Scott Patterson, a mortgage broker, is awaiting extradition proceedings in Jamaica.

Her hearing is scheduled for September 5.

According to the indictment, the defendants submitted more than 30 fraudulent loans to lenders around the US on properties located in Broward County.
