Image The police are probing reports that members of the Joe Benbow gang in Admiral Town are behind last week's attack along Elgin Road in which three people were killed by gunmen.

Senior police sources told the RJR News Centre that the spotlight is now on the gang and its leader Joseph Barrett otherwise called "Joe Benbow".

Last Thursday, members of the gang were reportedly in pursuit of a man who tried to take the life of Joseph Barrett.

They invaded premises along Elgin Road and shot dead 25 year old Kadian Johnson and her 22 year old brother Henry Johnson, an employee of the Bank of Nova Scotia.

Another relative, 23 year old security guard Shaniel Johnson was also killed.

Its understood that three weeks ago "Joe Benbow" who is now out on bail after being charged with multiple counts of murder, was shot and injured by a man in the New Kingston area.

Following the shooting, Joe Benbow was taken back into custody for reportedly violating his curfew order.

But he was again released by the court.

The police say they are now probing reports that the man who attempted to take the life of Joe Benbow, resided along Elgin Road and that the gunmen were searching for him when they attacked the Johnson's house.

Our news centre understands that the gunmen attacked the wrong house and have since sent apologies to the victims' family.

The police say they recovered more than 40 rounds of spent shells for an AK47 rifle, an M16 and a 9mm pistol at the bloody scene.
