Four more persons have been arrested as the police
continue their clampdown on the sale of pirated DVDs.They were nabbed when the police carried out an operation in the Orange Street, King Street and South Parsade area of downtown Kingston Monday afternoon. More than 1,000 illegal DVDs were seized. Charged with breaches of the Copyright Act are David Wint, 29, of Charles Street, Kingston, Jermaine Dias, 26, a vendor of Castleton St. Mary, Jermaine Collard, 22, of Mark Lane in Kingston and Donna Reid, 21, of Shooters Hill in St. Andrew. Deputy Superintendent Conroy Reid of the Organised Crime Investigation Division (OCID) said they will be taken to court on August 28. |
