The Manchester Parish Council (PC) has carried out its
plan to destroy a section of the Mandeville Market. The area commonly referred to as the ‘Bronx' was the scene of three murders last week. The Council concluded that the area located at the back of the market was a haven for criminals and had to be destroyed. Speaking with RJR News Sunday morning, Assistant Commander of the Island Special Constabulary Force Christopher Bowen said the area was destroyed in a bid to put an end to several illegal activities that have been flourishing in the area. At a Press Conference last week, Mayor of Mandeville Brenda Ramsay announced that vendors who apply for shops in the Mandeville arcade when it reopens will have to register with a police record. |
