"Bungles" Daley.Superintendent Daley is accused of corruption. Head of the Anti-Corruption Branch, Assistant Commissioner of Police Justin Felice told RJR News Sunday night that a file has been prepared and will be submitted to the DPP Monday morning. He said the Ms Llewellyn will then decide whether charges should be pursued against the senior cop. Defence attorney Valerie Neita Robertson told our news centre that she will await the ruling of the DPP. Superintendent Daley was arrested on Thursday during a sting operation along Arnold Road in St. Andrew. He was reportedly nabbed with a package containing $15,000. Investigators alleged that the money was collected by the policeman as part of a major extortion racket. Superintendent Daley was questioned for four hours on the weekend about the racket. Several houses said to be owned by him were also raided on Thursday as investigators searched for evidence to build their case. Cops' workers also in custody Mrs Neita Robertson also added that she will be seeking the release of six persons employed to Superintendent Daley. The six, including three bar maids, were arrested last week during raids at the Superintendent's home and bar in Spanish Town, St. Catherine. ACP Felice declined to comment on the status of the six. |
