The dispute
involving the National Water Commission (NWC) and workers who took protest
action last month has ended. During a meeting Friday with the NWC's management and the National Workers Union (NWU) it was agreed that employees who participated in the one day sit-in would get back deductions made from their salaries this month. The workers had reportedly threatened strong action over the company's decision to dock one day's pay. NWU Vice President Granville Valentine said the NWC was given a stern warning that the workers will not tolerate any future late payment of salaries. |
